The University of Wilmarth Faculty of Eschatology is an ongoing digital art project that combines my day-job as data scientist/AI specialist and my love of the weird and macabre, particularly the work of H.P. Lovecraft (to which the title is a reference). In part it’s a collection of digital imagery and text, but over time I am weaving in a diffuse narrative which includes a cast of bizarre and mysterious characters. It exists for no other purpose than to scratch an itch, and will no doubt take a very long time to unfold, especially since attention to it is sporadic at best.
It is obliquely related to my Em Series of physical artworks. More elements of this are likely to leak out into my main body of work, and I may, at some point, attempt to bring the two realms closer together.
